Executive coaching
As a self-actualizing individual, you will understand what I mean when I say that executive coaching will help you to co-create a deliberate and insightful space in which to learn. The learning that you will experience will be the catalyst for designing and implementing practices that will transform your intentions into lasting leadership gains and personal success.
The level of your performance is linked to your levels of:
Whilst executive coaching can indirectly influence and direct number 1., it mostly works in the space of the last 3 numbers. I firmly believe that the last 2 make up the bedrock of transformation vs. temporary adjustment or change.
The level of your performance is linked to your levels of:
- Context specific knowledge and skill - i.e. the actual task or job that you need to perform. You cannot be a technical advisor or financial director without the requisite technical or financial knowledge or skill.
- Transferable knowledge or skill - the 'softer' side of your skill-set, imperative to your level of success. This includes emotional intelligence, relationship building, communication and self-management.
- Your confidence to perform - linked to your beliefs about yourself and your world.
- Your motivation to perform - linked to a complex set consisting of your values, vision and dreams.
Whilst executive coaching can indirectly influence and direct number 1., it mostly works in the space of the last 3 numbers. I firmly believe that the last 2 make up the bedrock of transformation vs. temporary adjustment or change.
My role
My role as your coach is to hold the space for your thinking and feeling within a deliberate framework of challenge and acute listening for barriers and limits in your construct of yourself and your world. Your role is to bring those insights into active reality to test their viability in your daily life with a view of building new beliefs and practices that translate into genuine transformation.
This is a process that requires reflection, conceptualization, action and re-action in a continuous loop for authentic shifts in your reality both internal and external.

How it works
i approach every person from an individual stance as we all have different needs and preferences. Still, the steps below show you what a process journey with me might look like and hopefully will help you to conceptualize at least the next step:
Chemistry
- We meet and check to see if we could be a good fit.
- At this time we talk about what our journey might be like in terms of what you'd like to address and figure out who else might be involved.
Sketch
- You and I meet with anyone else who might have an agenda for your coaching (sponsor) if necessary and we agree on what we intend to work on together.
Explore, Learn & Plan
- We'll collect some information - I'll facilitate any assessments and/or observations involving those who engage with you to do some reality testing and gather their input. Whilst I have a suite of tools available for this, you can read about the 360-degree leadership assessment and the Skills Deployment Inventory that I use when you click on the links.
- Once we have more insight from the assessments/ interviews/ observations, we'll be able to plan and design our work together. You can then decide on your priorities.
- With your priorities clear, we can design the success criteria against which we will test the outcomes of our process.
Coaching
- The coaching process starts via one-on-one meetings which typically occur in person either on or off-site combined with telephone calls, e-mails and/or Skype interaction. Through these interactions we reflect on what changes need to occur internally and externally for you to achieve your desired results.
- This is where I employ the skills in which I was trained - you can read more about each approach and framework by clicking on the links: Integral, HNLP, Time to Think, Brief Action Therapy.
- Depending on what you'd like to achieve, a typical coaching intervention lasts between 8 and 12 meetings over 6-8 months.
Reflection & Testing
- At the end of our time together we will spend some time testing the changes and outcomes against what you intended to happen at the start. This process might involve others in your system as we solicit feedback on your progress - naturally dependant on what you choose to address.
- This allows for corrective changes to be made on both our parts and helps us measure our success.
